Our Team
The Blu Sky team is based in North Shields and led by Jon Dudgeon and Dave Gibson. Both partners are passionate about working and helping new start-up and SME businesses grow and succeed. They combine strong technical backgrounds with a friendly, straight talking approach to accountancy and taxation advice.
Dave, Jon and the team must be doing something right as Blu Sky's client retention record is excellent and much of Blu Sky's new business is generated from existing clients.
The team's dedication to client service and a modern approach is reflected in Blu Sky's nomination for North East Accountants of the year 2009 and second place in the Independent Firm of the year category in 2010.
Dave has had many years doing stuff. Dave passed his banking accountancy exams far too many years ago, then got involved in Business Analysis/Project Management...in other words Dave spent 20 years helping departments and organisations through painful change, with occasional far-out trips to Australia, Kazakhstan and Sheffield.
Dave started Blu Sky in early 2005 - just him and no clients. The team is now 5-strong in the office including my business partner Jon (he's the bright, hard working one)
Jon's career as an accountant started with Arthur Andersen in Leeds in 1997. After qualifying with the ICAEW Jon joined Deloitte as an Audit Manager where he focused on life working with a wide range of medium sized and FTSE 100 firms across the UK.
After 7 eventful years working for a Big Four practice Jon decided to put theory into practice and joined the Financials Service Sector, firstly working for Aviva and then onto GE Money and Santander. In 2009 Jon joined BLU SKY as a partner.;
